This document specifies the quality and safety requirements and test methods of Perilla frutescens leaf, which is derived from the dried leaf (with young branch) of Perilla frutescens (L.) Britt. (Fam. Labiatae). This document is applicable to Perilla frutescens leaf that is sold and used as natural medicines in international trade, including Chinese materia medica (whole medicinal material), and decoction pieces derived from this plant.
