Standard Reference

Container for information about the full standard reference to the document and for the individual significant parts of the reference.


The child elements of <std-ident> identify the various pieces of the reference and may give other information. The <std-ref> element (not a child of <std-ident>, but a sibling) gives the full form of the reference. (When things are simple, the reference could be constructed by putting the pieces together in the prescribed way, but it's sometimes simpler to do it by hand than to try to make the software understand all the rules.)

This element is part of the ISOSTS customization of the JATS journal publishing vocabulary; it is not part of the base vocabulary.
