Part Number of Multi-part Document

Gives the part number of the document, for individual parts of multipart documents. Its value is one or more alphanumeric characters or hyphens.

Usage. In a document reference, the part number is normally preceded by a hyphen (as in β€œISO 8859-1”, part 1 of ISO 8859). But no leading hyphen is needed here, and none should be used.

For documents which are not parts of a larger document, this element may be omitted; if present, it should be empty.

This element is part of the ISOSTS customization of the JATS journal publishing vocabulary; it is not part of the base vocabulary.
