Scope
Standardization of terminology, requirements and test methods for optical materials, optical components and coatings. Standardization of optical components for specific technical instruments and devices such as telescopes, microscopes and lasers are in the responsibility of the specific subcommittee, but should be dealt with in liaison with SC 3. Standardization of optical coatings for ophthalmic optics is under the responsibility of ISO/TC 172/SC 7.
