The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) is a key government body established in July 2020 to transform the nation's industrial landscape. Its core mission is to position the UAE as a global hub for future industries and accelerate the adoption of advanced technology and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) solutions. MoIAT is the driving force behind the "Operation 300 Billion" strategy, which aims to significantly increase the industrial sector's contribution to the national GDP. Through initiatives like the "Make it in the Emirates" campaign and the National In-Country Value (ICV) Program, the Ministry is actively creating an attractive business environment, boosting local manufacturing, and enhancing the global competitiveness of UAE products.
Standardization Affairs Sector (SAS)
The MoIAT - Standardization Affairs Sector (MoIAT-SAS) is the National Standardization Body (NSB) of the UAE, operating under the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).
MoIAT-SAS plays a pivotal role in the nation's economic diversification and industrial growth by developing and enforcing the UAE's integrated Quality Infrastructure (QI). This essential framework covers the key dimensions of Standardization, Metrology, Accreditation, and Conformity Assessment.
Its core mandate involves formulating and issuing national standards and technical regulations (UAE.S) across various sectors, ensuring the quality, safety, and competitiveness of UAE products in both local and global markets. By aligning national standards with international best practices, SAS facilitates trade, protects consumers and the environment, and supports the strategic goals of the "Operation 300 Billion" strategy to boost the industrial sector.
