This document type is mainly aimed to circulate Publications that require an additional security level, as Publication document type will be by default watermarked-on-the-fly (user email address + date of download).
Watermarking-on-the-fly happens at user download. It is always turned on for Publication document type. As part of the configuration work, the member can define the following:
- Text of the watermarking (Default: username + date of download)
- Font of text used for watermarking (Helvetica default)
- Size of the text used for watermarking (10 default)
- Opacity of watermarking (0.5 default)
- Position: for now, watermarking is always on top of the page; can be left or right (right is default). However, we can also specify the x and y offset, i.e. distance from the left and top end of the page (Horizontal offset: 20 default, Vertical offset: 20 default)
Note: watermarking-on-the-fly only work on non-protected PDF documents (for instance, it won’t work if the downloaded document is a Word or a Protected PDF file).
The Publication document type can be added to a new root folder or to an existing one (in conjunction with other document types). The Publication folder could also be added as a subfolder of an existing root folder. Note that for existing committees, the configuration needs first to be updated and then all impacted committees to be realigned.
Publication documents are numbered document, like a Project or Meeting documents. The N-number is automatically set by the system at document upload.
Publication documents can be bulk uploaded like other document types. They follow the same N-document lifecycle model configured at the working area (tenant) level, i.e., classic (like ISO Technical committees), available at creation time, or hybrid (move to available without notification), including the withdrawn status.
Publications documents can only be searched using the Committee document search (see below column “Searchable” to know which field can be searched).
