Khaled  Soufi

Khaled SoufiISO President - Egypt

Khaled Soufi was elected ISO President for a three-year term starting on 1 January 2026 and serves as President-elect in 2025. Dr Soufi brings a wealth of expertise in international governance, standardization and quality management across both the public and private sectors. His leadership has consistently driven impactful change, enhancing organizational efficiency and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Dr Soufi has held senior roles at the international, regional and national levels, such as member of the ISO Council and other governance groups reporting to Council, Chair of the Egyptian Committee of Codex and Liaison Officer at the United Nations Headquarters. He has also been Board member of the Arab Institute for Standardization and Metrology (AIDSMO) and of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIICC) as well as Council member of the  African Regional Organization for Standardization (ARSO). At the national level, he is  Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization (EOS).

Dr Soufi holds a PhD in Statistical Control and Quality Assurance from the Cairo University in Egypt and his educational background includes a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Quality Management Systems.

Chantal  Guay

Chantal GuayISO Vice-President (policy) - Canada

Chantal Guay was appointed ISO Vice-President (policy) for the 2026-2027 term. Ms Guay has been actively involved in international standardization activities, for example, in her capacity as member body representative on the ISO Council and the Technical Management Board, as well as Chair of the Information Technology Strategic Advisory Group (ITSAG). Ms Guay has also been a member of the IEC Business Advisory Committee since 2024.

Prior to her appointment as CEO of Standards Council of Canada (SCC) in 2018, Ms. Guay was Vice-President Standards and International Relations, and Vice-President Accreditation Services at SCC, where she was responsible for setting and implementing the strategic priorities and managing the standardization operations, business management, and financial oversight for Canada’s participation in international standards development and conformity assessment activities.  

Before SCC, Ms. Guay was the Chief Executive Officer of Engineers Canada; the national organization that regulates the practice of engineering in Canada and licenses the country’s more than 290,000 professional engineers. During her tenure, she represented the Canadian Engineering Regulators at various regional and international fora. 

 Ms. Guay holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from Université Laval, and a Master’s in Environmental Management from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Université de Sherbrooke. She has also earned an Advanced Executive Certificate in General Management from Queen University’s School of Business, as well as the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.  

Javier   García

Javier GarcíaISO Vice-President (technical management) - Spain

Javier García has been reappointed ISO Vice-President (technical management) for the 2025-2026 term, having served in the same role since 2023. Prior to taking up this role in ISO, he served as Vice-President elect (technical management) in 2022.

Mr García brings more than 20 years of experience in standardization work and has held various positions of responsibility in international, regional and national standardization organizations.

During his years as an ISO Council member from 2018-2021, he had the privilege and opportunity to contribute to the design and planning of the implementation of ISO Strategy 2030, allowing him to fully understand its objectives in the existing global context.

He is also a member of the Administrative Board of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). From 2018 to 2020, he was Vice-president Technical of the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, CENELEC, and he served as member in the Standardization Management Board of the International Electrotechnical Commission from 2012-2017.

As Director General of UNE (Spain), he has led the transformation of the Spanish standardization activities looking to increase the profile of standardization in political, business, and societal agendas as well as to develop innovative mechanisms to facilitate participation in the development and further implementation of standards through products and services that address the needs of those that benefit from their implementation.

Mr García holds a degree in chemical engineering from the Complutense University in Madrid, a Master's Degree in Innovation Management and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration and Marketing Management.

Osvaldo  Petroni

Osvaldo PetroniISO Vice-President (finance) - Argentina

Osvaldo Petroni has been reappointed ISO Vice-President (finance) for the 2025-2026 term, having served in the same role since 2023. As Director-Standardization and International Relations, he is the executive head of all IRAM standardization activities since 2012 and, since 2015, also responsible for corporate international relations.

Mr. Petroni has served as ISO Council member from 2018 to 2021 and was an active member of CSC/FIN and CSC/NOM during this term. At the regional level, he has held governance positions in the Pan-American Standards Commission (COPANT), as Treasurer from 2010 to 2021, and as President in 2021 and 2022. 

Throughout his 40 year career working for IRAM in standardization and conformity assessment activities at the national, regional and international levels, he has gained broad experience leading teams and national delegations, managing projects, advising regulators, implementing standardization and certification agreements between IRAM and other organizations, and assessing technical competence of testing laboratories and product certification bodies. He has also acquired, after serving in different governing bodies, financial skills including budget forecasting, financial planning and execution, and auditing of expenditures. 

Mr. Petroni graduated as Electrical Engineer in 1985 at the Engineering School of the National University of Buenos Aires, where he is currently teaching as a professor in its Energy Department.

Virginie  Van Doorn

Virginie van Doorn ISO Treasurer - Switzerland

Virginie van Doorn has been appointed as ISO Treasurer for the 2026-2027 term. She is a Swiss strategic finance executive and board member with over 20 years of experience in banking, private equity, and sustainable finance. She combines governance expertise, ESG leadership, and public-private institutional insight.

Ms van Doorn currently holds a number of board mandates, including Vice-Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee at Geneva Airport and Vice-President and Treasurer of Sustainable Finance Geneva, where she contributes to financial oversight and strategic direction. From 2020, she has led strategic projects at Conser ESG Verifier SA, a Swiss-based independent consulting firm dedicated to responsible investment and sustainable development.

During her career, Ms van Doorn has acquired a strong understanding of Swiss financial and legal frameworks, strategic communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Amongst other senior roles, Ms Van Doorn has worked for the Banque Cantonale de Genève as responsible for the operations of their equity arm, Capital Transmission SA, overseeing investment processes and governance.

Ms van Doorn holds a Master of Business Administration with a major in Banking from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), complemented by a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Finance from Zurich University, a Programme for Executive Development diploma from IMD Lausanne, and a Board Governance Certificate from the Swiss Board School.

Sergio  Mujica

Sergio MujicaISO Secretary-General

Sergio Mujica has been ISO Secretary-General since 2017.
ISO is a leading international organization in standardization with a membership of about 165 national standards bodies. ISO standards support global trade, drive inclusive and equitable economic growth, advance innovation and promote health and safety to achieve a sustainable future.
Under Sergio’s leadership, ISO approved a new Strategy 2030, which is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with a vision of “making lives easier, safer and better”.

Combining his experience as Deputy Secretary-General at the World Customs Organization in Brussels, and several leadership positions in the government of Chile, Sergio has unique global perspectives of international trade and sustainability.

He is an advocate for International Standards as ways of reducing barriers and fully realizing the role of international trade in growing economies.

Sergio is committed to integrity, transparency and the highest ethics across every part of ISO, as well as to gender equality. As an International Gender Champion, he is a member of a leadership network that brings together female and male decision-makers determined to break down gender barriers and make gender equality a working reality in their spheres of influence.

Sergio obtained his law degree at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and completed his master’s in international law at the American University in Washington D.C. In 2021, Sergio was re-appointed as ISO Secretary-General for a second five-year term.
