The Liberia Standards Authority (LiSA) was established by law in 2022 and operationalized in 2024 as the national body responsible for developing, promoting, and maintaining Liberian standards. LiSA also provides conformity assessments, calibration, and promotes quality across public and private sectors.

Services

• Stakeholder engagement: Facilitate collaboration between industry stakeholders, government agencies, and consumers in the standards development process through national technical harmonization committees (NTHCs).
• Standard promulgation and promotion: Develop and publish national standards relevant to all sectors (private & public) within Liberia.
• Standards library & dissemination: Publish national standards and make them readily available and accessible to industries, businesses, regulators and consumers through the national standards desk.
• Technical guidance & support: Offer technical guidance and support to business, industries and SMES in form for training, standards and technical regulations implementation and market access issues.
• Conformity Assessment Services: Provide inspection, testing and certification services to ensure conformity with standards.
• Metrology: Manage national measurement systems in trade and ensure traceability to international standards (SI systemunits) through calibration and verification. services
• Quality Assurance Promotion: Promote quality by the hosting of the National Quality Award Program
• Public Education and Consumer Protection: Carry out public awareness, education, sensitization and campaigns on standards, in order to increase knowledgeof consumers on standards and related services.
