2023-01-11

On 11th January 2023, Content Server platforms (ISOTC/ISO eCommittees, CENTC/CEN eCommittees, National eCommittees, livelink etc.) became permanently unavailable and replaced by the Documents platform. URLs pointing to Content Server are now automatically redirected to their final migrated location. It is still highly recommended to update any URLs pointing to this platform.

Public information for committees

Committee public material deserves to be both simple to manage and easily accessible by an external audience without compromising the safety and privacy of committee draft documents. To best respond to these constraints, we implemented a mechanism to display public documents stored in the Documents platform on www.iso.org. This allows committees to create and upload documents from their committee workspace in Documents. These documents are then automatically exposed on the committee page on www.iso.org. For more details, please refer to the knowledge base article.

ISO Central Secretariat miscellaneous resources
  • for a public audience: similarly to committee public documents and starting January 2023, resources for public audiences are managed from the Documents platform, (i.e. password-protected support material area) but exposed publicly from the Resources page on www.iso.org. All the ISO Central Secretariat staff can upload documents in this folder.
  • for technical groups: from January 2023, content supporting the development of standards, are found in the Documents platform, from the Standards development resources folder (user profiles registered in at least one technical committee in the Global Directory is required). All the ISO Central Secretariat staff can upload documents in this folder.
  • for governance groups: from January 2023, general content supporting the work of ISO governance groups are found in the Documents platform from the Governance groups resources folder (user profiles registered in at least one ISO governance committee in the Global Directory is required). All the ISO Central Secretariat staff can upload documents in this folder.
  • for ISO Members: from January 2023, support materials for ISO member staff are found from the support material area, in the ISO members resource folder (user profiles registered as employees of an ISO member in the Global Directory is required). All the ISO Central Secretariat staff can upload documents in this folder.
Content Server forums and task lists

In 2023, we will work on providing committees with a new solution for managing collaboration and communication within committees. We have already started to collect requirements from the ISO community, however we are keen to hear more, should you have views on this matter or wish to vote for existing user stories, please complete this form.

In the meantime, and starting January 2023, forums and task lists will become unavailable. Your forums, threads and tasks will not be lost. We will extract these for potential use in the future platform if appropriate. Should you require a copy of this extraction, please complete this form.

Content Server personal workspace ("My Workspace")

This feature will be discontinued by 31st December 2022, and content will not be migrated to another platform. Users wishing to keep such documents are required to manually download these before the end of the year. You can review your documents from ISO TC, CEN TC, and NTC (a.k.a eCommittees, Livelink or National eCommittees) and from the top left menu, click the Personal menu and then My Workspace.

URL redirections from eCommittees to the Documents platform or www.iso.org

All the traffic pointing to documents or folders originally located in eCommittees/CENTC/NTC and migrated by the project team will be redirected to their new location. If the document or folder was public, people will be redirected to www.iso.org and if the document or folder is password-protected, people will be redirected to the corresponding document in the Documents platform.

Testimonials

The ISO Documents pilot group provided the project team with their feedback on a regular basis. This feedback allowed us to evaluate the new tool in a quantitative and qualitative way. Below are a few of those testimonials :

"This is excellent - easy to navigate, much more comprehensive and user friendly. [...] you just made my ISO life a lot easier"

"Now 8-9 months since we started it felt strange when I needed to go back to Livelink to search for a document at one of our liaison committees that was not migrated."

"I like that we get suggestions when uploading a new document as to which meeting it belongs to, or which ballot or project it concerns"

"On notifications: fewer steps to go through to organize an email. That’s good!"

A: Yes, right here

Q: Any interesting facts?
A: Yes, in total so far, over 1 million documents were successfully migrated to the new platform for over to 60'000 experts, committee managers, chairs, convenors etc.
