Institutional characteristics of standardization organizations at national, European and international level

This lecture summarizes the historical development, the organizational structures, the operational principles and the sources of financing for the national standardization organizations DIN, AFNOR and BSI as well as for the European standardization organizations CEN, CENELEC and ETSI and the international organizations ISO, IEC and ITU. The Vienna Agreement (between ISO and CEN) and the Dresden Agreement (between IEC and CENELEC) are briefly introduced. An impression is provided of the many relationships between the various organizations and the different levels of standardization.

Diese Vorlesung zeigt in konzentrierter Form die geschichtliche Entwicklung, den organisatorischen Aufbau, die Grundsätze der Arbeitsweise sowie die Finanzierung der nationalen Normungsorganisationen DIN, AFNOR und BSI auf. Dies gilt in gleicher Weise für die europäischen Normungsorganisationen CEN, CENELEC und ETSI. Die internationale Ebene wird durch die Normungsorganisationen ISO, IEC und ITU repräsentiert. Es werden des Weiteren die Wiener (zwischen ISO and CEN) und die Dresdner Vereinbarung (zwischen IEC and CENELEC) kurz vorgestellt. Damit soll ein Einblick bei Normungsorganisationen in die Vernetzung und durch die aufgezeigten Ebenen vermittelt werden.
