The Institut guinéen de normalisation et de métrologie (IGNM) is responsible for the promotion and development of standards and related activities, including accreditation, metrology, certification, and quality.
IGNM contributes to the definition and implementation of quality policy in all socio-economic domains, particularly in companies and laboratories, for the protection of health and safety of consumers; and environmental protection.
It offers services including:
Working at international and regional levels, IGNM is a member of ARSO (African Organisation for Standardization), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), OIML (International Organization of Legal Metrology), RNF (Réseau Normalisation et Francophonie / Francophone Standardization Network), and SMIIC (Standards and Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries). IGNM is also the focal point for the West Africa Quality System Programme (WAQSP) of UNIDO, and the national contact point for Codex Alimentarius (of which it is also a member).
