Luxembourg - ILNAS

Most important initiatives:

To date, only a few teachers have been made aware of standards when stopping by the ILNAS/ANEC standardization counter at shows (or fairs) organized in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg between 2011 and 2012. To this end, educational postcards have been developed but are not subject to a systematic approach. Moreover, a file on education of standardization has been published end of January 2013 in the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce magazine, known as Merkur.

Agreements exist with the following organizations:

Relationships exist with these organizations:

No formal agreement at present. However, in the context of the national standardization strategy 2010-2020, a concept of education for standardization was developed, the implementation of which began with a consultative committee meeting (12 July 2012). Around 10 people from leading educational and training organizations of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg participated in the meeting (Agence nationale pour le programme européen d'éducation et de formation tout au long de la vie [ANEFORE], Chambre de commerce, Chambre des métiers, Business Federation Luxembourg [FEDIL], Institut national d'administration publique [INAP], Institut national pour le développement de la formation professionnelle [INFPC], Luxembourg Lifelong Learning Center [LLLC], Ministère de l¿éducation nationale et de la Formation professionnelle, University of Luxembourg).
This meeting allowed to present the approach, to explain the national standardization context, to highlight the benefits of standardization, to review all the stakes involved in education on standardization and to discuss possibilities of collaboration. ILNAS remainS in contact with these bodies with the purpose of deploying its concept of education on standardization in the year 2013.

Impact of initiatives in figures:

Number of schools or students reached: The results obtained to date are primarily qualitative. Stakeholders have indeed expressed an interest in the process but can only get involved during the second half of 2013. Therefore, quantitative results and more precise descriptions of national projects for primary and secondary schools on standardization and its importance for companies will be available later in the year.

Impact on public authorities, stakeholder groups or others:

Awareness of the importance of standards: Following the advisory committee on "Education on Standardization" set up on ¿¿July 12, 2012, the categories of actors represented were made aware of the concept of standardization and that education on standardization is indispensable. In this sense, specific actions will be undertaken in 2013 when it will be easier to discuss the results.
