Labor Standards, Human Capital and Economic Development
This paper discusses the nature and importance of human capital. It presents an overview of human capital-labor standards linkages and the rationale for making core international labor standards a part of the rules governing the global economy and evaluates some of the criticisms of those rationales. The paper concludes with an elaboration of the human capital-labor standards linkages.
