The 2004 World Standards Day poster design is the result of a collaborative partnership by three friends in New York City. In their design of interlocking puzzle pieces surrounding a globe, the artists - Stacy Leistner (American National Standards Institute), Sarah Donovan and Sheilah James (Donovan James Design) - emphasize a literal interpretation of the role that standards play in connecting countries, industries and people. Each of the artists focuses his or her creative talents on conveying and translating a message via design.
Ms. Donovan and Ms. James are trained in both visual and written communication. Their design services include both print and electronic media, photography, illustration and copywriting.
Sarah Donovan currently focuses on both print and Web-based design largely within the financial services industry. A trained photographer, she studied at New York's International Center of Photography.
Sheilah James focuses heavily on written communications, providing copywriting and editing services to advertising agencies and the pharmaceutical industry. She is also an illustrator and stage (theatre) designer.
Stacy Leistner is a full-time communications professional with experience in design, public relations and corporate training. In addition to his work for ANSI, Stacy provides freelance graphic design services. He received his training at Parson's School of Design.
