The ISO Central Secretariat has developed two model documents, a draft International Standard (known as "The rice model") and a draft Amendment, to demonstrate the application of certain instructions contained in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2, 2004, Rules for the structure and drafting of International Standards. These model documents are intended to provide practical examples and explanations as a complement to the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2. Although they have been prepared using the ISO template, they are not designed to show how to use the ISO template but rather to illustrate editorial rules.
The model draft International Standard and draft Amendment are not real drafts, and their text has no technical significance. Although they are based on a draft International Standard and draft Amendment from one particular Technical Committee, the rules that they illustrate are applicable to all Technical Committees.
