IT tools

The development of standards in ISO is completely reliant on IT tools, both for the drafting of standards and for support of the process. Key to the use of IT in the development process is the Internet, on which hosting environments exist for all ISO committees and working groups (so called "electronic committees").

For all IT applications in ISO, user guides have been prepared, which are also used as training materials. These guides can be found in this section. Most of the key IT applications have been developed and are maintained by project teams operating under ISO's Information Technology Strategies Implementation Group (ITSIG) and consisting of individuals who have been appointed by ISO member bodies as well as of staff of the ISO Central Secretariat.
