How to give your ISO 14001 system the climate change health check

Notwithstanding the recent publication of ISO 14064 and ISO 14065, developed specifically for greenhouse gas accounting and verification, the author of this article argues that because ISO 14001 is already globally implemented, the environmental management system standard is potentially a powerful tool to mitigate climate change.

During the same period, certification to more recent ISO management system standards for the automotive sector (ISO/TS 16949) and the medical device sector (ISO 13485) increased by more than 60 %.

With small businesses comprising a strong segment of the Brazilian economy, the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) is working to develop a standard aimed at helping small retailers increase the quality of services offered to their consumers.
