ISO Focus - June 2005
Innovation in energy and raw materials
“In a global economy, standardization is a must ,” says Guy Dollé, CEO and Chairman of Arcelor, the world's second largest steel maker, in an exclusive interview in the June 2005 issue of ISO Focus.
“It is a prerequisite for effectiveness, performance and optimization of our production activities, but also with our trading partners since harmonization helps us to speak the same business language,” Dollé tells ISO Focus. “Arcelor, as a global company, must be able to rely on internationally recognized and efficient standards.”
In addition to the interview with Guy Dollé, the June issue brings together a series of articles on energy and raw materials and how standards are helping to reduce costs, increase efficiency and international trade. Articles cover topics such as natural gas, coal, plastics, iron ore and steel, rubber and technical energy systems. Alternative energy sources such as wind, solar and hydrogen energy are also explored.
