Why does the work matter?
People around the world have a common goal: they want to stay as healthy as possible throughout their lifetime and, if they do become sick or injured, they want to return to health as quickly as possible.
However, there is a growing need to do so more efficiently. Firstly, demographic developments are putting more and more demands as populations around the world are growing older. Secondly, there is a political motivation to rein in health care spending.
This presents with a clear task: we must increase health care efficiency, which means continuing to improve the quality of care while at the same time reducing its cost.
The aim of standardization on health care and medicine is to help fulfil this goal.
