ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems – An easy-to-use checklist for small business – Are you ready?The International Trade Centre (ITC) and ISO have just released a new product designed to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the food sector to benefit from the advantages of implementing a food safety management system.

The product consists of a combined handbook and CD-ROM, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems – An easy-to-use checklist for small business – Are you ready? It is aimed at SMEs, both in developed and developing countries, for which a food safety management system meeting the requirements of the International Standard ISO 22000:2005 could be the entry ticket to increased business in the global market and participation in cross-border food supply chains.

New products

ISO 14971:2007 specifies a process for a manufacturer to identify the hazards associated with medical devices, including in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical devices, to estimate and evaluate the associated risks, to control these risks, and to monitor the effectiveness of the controls. The requirements of ISO 14971:2007 are applicable to all stages of the life-cycle of a medical device.

ISO/TS 22003:2007 defines the rules applicable for the audit and certification of a food safety management system (FSMS) complying with the requirements given in ISO 22000:2005 (or other sets of specified FSMS requirements), and provides the necessary information and confidence to customers about the way certification of their suppliers has been granted.
