Updates on ISO 3166

Access to ISO 3166 and the way you can find out about updates has changed.

We are now using the Online Browsing Platform (OBP) to present the ISO country codes, including codes for subdivisions and formerly used codes.

The information on the OBP is always up-to-date and you can sign up for notifications to be informed when changes are made by clicking on the "follow" function in the top right hand corner of this page. This notification functionality replaces the ISO 3166 newsletter. For reference purposes you can find past newsletters on this page.

You need to have an ISO Store account in order to sign up for notifications on the OBP. If you have purchased a standard from ISO you can use this login, if not then please create an account (it is free).

Please contact our customer service team with any feedback or questions.

Subscribe to the full collection of codes

We also have a product, the online collection of country codes, that contains the codes from parts 1, 2 and 3 of ISO 3166 in 3 different formats: .xml, .csv, and .xls for easy integration into your own systems. You will be notified when changes are made so you can download the latest versions. In this way, you can be sure that your database is always using the most up-to-date information from ISO.

Past ISO 3166 Newsletters

Please note: The first tab lists all the newsletters published with updates to ISO 3166-1, ISO 3166-2 and ISO 3166-3. The second and third tabs lists the countries affected by these updates with reference to the newsletter in which they were announced.
