We are an international non-governmental organization, specializing in standardization and related matters. We are a network of national standards bodies that make up the ISO membership. Our members represent ISO in their country, on the basis of one member per country, and our Central Secretariat, located in Geneva, Switzerland, ensures coordination of the whole.
We develop International Standards. Since our creation in 1947, we have published more than 19 500 International Standards covering almost all aspects of technology and business. From food safety to computers, and agriculture to health care, ISO International Standards impact all our lives.
