Forum on Green Olympics and Sustainable Development (GOSD’07)

CALL FOR PAPERS

Beijing, China - June 26th, 2007

ISO/TC207 and Standardization Administration of China (SAC) are pleased to announce:

A Forum on green Olympics and sustainable development (GOSD’07) will be provided in conjunction with the 14th ISO/TC207 Meeting. The Forum is to bring together officials, experts, representatives of industries, and NGOs from across the world to share experiences on green Olympics, as well as strategies, policies, technologies, actions for sustainable development at national, regional and global levels.

The 14th ISO/TC207 meeting will take place in Beijing, China between June 22 to 29, 2007. Representatives from all over the world will participate in the meeting.

The one-day forum will include plenary sessions where representatives from international organizations, manufacturers, government agencies, NGOs and academia will present their views to green Olympics, environment protection policies and strategies to facilitate sustainable development. Parallel sessions on specific themes and topics will allow in-depth discussions among participants.

Call for Papers

To contribute to the success of the Forum, we invite you to participate in the Forum and call for papers on the following topics:

  • Green Olympics: Olympic Games and urban eco-environment, environment friendly materials’ & products’ application in construction of Olympic arenas, energy conservation and Olympic Games, the applications of environmental management system and certification in the fields of construction, and service for Olympic Games.
  • Environmental Management: environmental protection strategies & policies, environmental management systems, environmental labels, life cycle assessment, environmental performance evaluation, environmental information communication, environment friendly materials & products and standardization, green education.
  • Sustainable Development: clean energy, cleaner production (pollution prevention), greenhouse gas control and standardization, clean materials and waste management.

Papers can focus on polices, programmes, standardization, new technology developments, and applications. All papers shall address new and original developments without commercial nature.

Instructions for Authors

Authors interested in submitting papers for the parallel session are requested to send a paper with around 4000 words, and an abstract of 200-400 words in length. The template for submission of papers can be downloaded.

Deadlines

  • 2007 April 15: Final papers due to SAC/TC 207 secretariat.
  • 2007 May 15: Notification of papers acceptance.
  • 2007 June 10: Power point presentations are due to the secretariat.
