ISO Building
The ISO Central Secretariat, which employs some 150 people from 20 countries, supplies a full range of services to its members, 157 countries, and standards developers (several thousand in some 200 committees around the world). These services include coordination of the standards development programme, administration of voting on draft standards, the final editing and publication of standards, and information, communication and public relations.
The Central Secretariat of ISO is subject to the Swiss federal and cantonal employment laws. Priority is given, therefore, to persons of Swiss nationality or holding a valid work permit for the Canton of Geneva.
Working languages at the ISO Central Secretariat are English and French. More than 20 languages are spoken with varying degrees of proficiency.
The ISO Central Secretariat has achieved full-site certification to the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard.
The ISO Central Secretariat is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from women and men.
Please note that our offices are wheelchair-accessible.
Internship, scholarship, sponsorship
Due to a very limited budget and human resources, the ISO Central Secretariat has no internship or scholarship programmes. For the same reason, we are not in a position to make donations.
ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 auditors
There is no such position as an ISO 9000 or ISO 14000 auditor at the ISO Central Secretariat!
ISO operates no system for assessing the conformity of organizations' management systems with standards in the ISO 9000 family, or the ISO 14000 family. ISO itself carries out neither ISO 9000 nor ISO 14000 audits and awards no certificates attesting to conformity with the standards.
Both ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 auditing and certification are carried out independently of ISO by certification bodies under their own responsibility.
For more information on this subject, see ISO does not carry out ISO 9001:2000 or ISO 14001:2004 certification
