ISO Building
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an international non-government organization, specialising in standardization and related questions. Its members are the national standardization institutes of 159 countries, based on the principle of one member per country, and its Central Secretariat, located in Geneva, Switzerland, ensures the coordination of the whole.
ISO does not part of the United Nations system, but it fosters many technical and political relations with the specialised institutions within the United Nations. As an institutional member of the World Economic Forum, ISO has increased its collaboration with the NGOs representing company or professional interests.
With a staff of around 155 people representing 26 nationalities, the Central Secretariat is responsible for the overall coordination and support for the generation and promotion of ISO standards and other ISO system products. It’s working languages are French and English.
ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Auditors

As such, ISO carries out no ISO 9000 or ISO 14000 audits and delivers no certificates certifying conformity with the standards. ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 audits and certification are carried out independently of ISO by certification bodies acting on their own behalves.
