Elisabeth Stampfl-Blaha
ISO Vice-President (technical management) - Austria
has been appointed ISO Vice-President (technical management) for the 2012-2013 term. Dr. Stampfl-Blaha, who joined the Austrian Standards Institute (ASI) in 1988, has been ASI Vice-Director since 2005 and will become ASI Chief Executive officer in December 2012. Since 2007, she has also been Vice-Director of Austrian Standards plusGmbH (a sister company of ASI).
As Manager International Relations, Legal and Organizational Affairs at ASI, she held responsibilities for several organizational and business development projects. In this function, she has also represented ASI on the ISO Technical Management Board and on Council. At the European level, Dr. Stampfl-Blaha is a permanent member of the Administrative Board of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and has been a member in the CEN Technical Board and in various Strategy Groups. She has been involved as senior expert in institution-building and strategic consultancy projects in several countries. She is a member of Supervisory Boards and gives lectures at Universities. Dr. Stampfl-Blaha holds a doctorate’s degree in Economics and Business Administration, and a further doctorate in Law.
