About CDNQ

"The Division de la Normalisation et de la Qualité of Cameroon, whose main objectives are based on various activities such as the following:
- design, development and implementation of standardization policies and strategies,
- development of regulations concerning standardization, in collaboration with the relevant administrative authorities,
- analytical quality control of manufactured products that are subject to mandatory standards, in collaboration with the relevant administrative authorities,
- promotion of standards and of the national trademark,
- assistance, awareness-raising and support to organizations and businesses pursuing a standardization and quality approach,
- accreditation of standards boards and of certification and training organizations dealing with quality issues,
- certification of quality auditors and consultants,
- accreditation of the monitoring of activities carried out by quality control and testing units,
- development and implementation of quality control programmes,
- monitoring of international organizations and standardization and testing committees,
- coordination of analytical work,
- harmonization of test procedures and protocols, in collaboration with the relevant organizations,
- product, ore and mineral characterization,
- activity monitoring of ancillary laboratories,

develops public awareness-raising campaigns on the expectations and benefits of standardization. In this respect, it welcomes any new training or technological contribution to lay its foundations. Accordingly, it carried out a number of activities in 2008, namely:
1. Standards development: Several international standards were adopted as national standards, i.e. - Codex standards for milk and milk products; - Codex standards for fruit juices; - Moroccan standards for paper and cardboard.
2. Conformity certification : Pre-certification audit initiatives have been conducted within a number of businesses by consultants authorized by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Technological Development (MINIMIDT). These audits mainly concerned standards whose application has become mandatory in Cameroon. A total of 53 businesses have undergone such audits. The results will be published in March 2009."
